On the date, which may be good in the following years with a comprehensive promotion throughout the year and better profiling  the 49th International Tourism Fair (September 29 - October 1, 2016) was held in Novi Sad. The tourism offers of Serbia and the Region were presented in the exhibiting section. It was attended by the Tourism Organization of Vojvodina, which united the attendance of Apatin, Banja Junaković, Bač, Bački Petrovac, Bela Crkva, Kanjiža, Kovačica, Pančevo, Zrenjanin, Sombor, Palić, Subotica, Sremski Karlovci, Vršac, Vrdnik and other resorts, National Tourism Organizations of Serbia,  Belgrade and Novi Sad, National Association of Travel Agencies YUTA, which prepared this year, along with the travel agencies, special offers for the pupil and school tourism and organized in this respect also a conference devoted to the school excursion and travel execution, Serbian Spas Association, with its several members, such as  Vrnjačka Spa, Atomic Spa Gornja Trepča, Niška Spa, Koviljača Spa and others, as well as the Pannonian Bee Cluster. The Gastronomic Corner was organized, as well, with the attendance of wine manufacturers who organized a wine exhibition, with promotions and tasting.

The Partner Country of this year's Tourism Fair - Montenegro featured under the slogan "Whatever you may wish" and promoted its winter season offer, New Year's Eve events and prices in the hotels and private accommodation. Beside Serbia, the Novi Sad Tourism Fair was attended also by the Republic of Srpska, Croatia and Slovenia.

The Tourism Fair was followed also by trade meetings and conferences. The Tourism Organization of Vojvodina, Supported by the Wine Knights, announced its future activities related to the wine tourism, the Balkan Alliance of Hospitality Associations held the forum with the topic "Tourism as the Factor of Regional Cooperation", tourist guides had their Annual Meeting, while the Provincial Secretariat for Economy and Tourism and the Embassy of Montenegro organized the forum with the topic "Tourism as the Factor of Regional Cooperation."
On the occasion of the Fair opening, Mr. Rasim Ljajić, Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications, pointed out ""We measure success by the point how much we shall increase the tourism turnover, improve the tourism offer and how many international tourists we shall attract. These results are annually better for Serbia and Vojvodina and we have increasingly successful tourism years compared with the previous ones. In tourism it does not matter what you have, it is important that you can use what you have in the best way".
In addition to the 49th International Tourism Fair, in the period from September 28 to October 2, the International Lorist Fairs (49th International Fair of Hunting, Fishing and Sport, 6th Forestry Engineering Fair, 23rd International Horticulture Fair and the 24th International Fair Eco-World) were held, while from September 30 to October 2, there was also the  7th Horse Breeding and Equipment Fair.
